You will…
– Contribute to Waabiâs cutting edge AV stack and data-driven simulator.
– Build and own robust, petabyte-scale ETL pipelines for ingesting and aggregating multi-sensor data to produce the maps leveraged both by Waabi World, as well by our autonomy software.
– Be part of a team of multidisciplinary Engineers, Research Scientists, and Product Managers using an AI-first approach to enable safe self-driving at scale.
– Interact with all areas of autonomy and simulation, many of which will be direct customers of maps.
– Have the chance to learn about, and integrate numerous cutting-edge ML models into various stages of Waabiâs data pipelines: semantic segmentation, automated map annotation, 3D surface reconstruction, etc.
– Collaborate closely with other teams including research scientists, ML and software engineers, and system engineers to understand use cases and deliver features that improve our overall data ecosystem.
– Bring your expertise to provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, and contribute to org-wide data architecture decision-making.
– Assist in project roadmap planning, prioritization, and delivery.
Qualifications:
– 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining high-performance production data pipelines, including deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and cloud storage services like AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage, and Azure Blob Storage.
– Solid coding proficiency and knowledge in Python and a compiled language like C++ or Rust.
– Solid understanding of cloud job orchestration, monitoring, and instrumentation best-practices.
– Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to help others.
– Passionate about self-driving technologies, solving hard problems, and creating innovative solutions.
Bonus/nice to have:
– Experience writing production software in Rust.
– Experience with MapReduce frameworks (Apache Hadoop/Spark) or orchestration frameworks like Apache Beam/Apache Airflow/Google Dataflow.
– Familiarity with robotic sensor (LiDAR, camera) data.
– Good documentation and technical writing skills.
– Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

The US yearly salary range for this role is: $129,000 – $238,000 USD in addition to competitive perks & benefits. Waabi (US) Inc.âs yearly salary ranges are determined based on several factors in accordance with the Companyâs compensation practices. The salary base range is reflective of the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Note: The Company provides additional compensation for employees in this role, including equity incentive awards and an annual performance bonus.
