Self Financial is looking for a Senior Scrum Master to support the Engineering teams to be a servant leader, building and leading successful scrum teams to deliver technology products and services.
What would you be doing? Working cross functionally with Program, Engineering, IT, Product, Compliance, and more this candidate will:
Perform the role of Scrum Master for one or more teams, leading multiple, simultaneous initiativesPractice the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and practice continuous improvementFacilitates Scrum ceremonies i.e., Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Demos/Reviews, and Sprint RetrospectivesHelps the team define norms/agreements, like a Definition of Ready and Definition of Done, and enforces the agreementsEnsures the team has a healthy product and Sprint backlog (in collaboration with the POActs as an Agile Coach, promoting and coaching the Agile mindset and principles, empowering the team to become self-managing and fulfill their cross-functional potentialTrack and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progressProvide status reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs), schedule, resources, and milestone deliveryFacilitates dependency management/risk management/impediment removal for the teamWork closely with Product and Program Management to manage and deliver key initiativesCoach and mentor in Scrum and Agile process
What you would bring:
5+ years practicing Scrum in a software businessStrong Communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departmentsSelf-starter, self-driver; bring expertise to the table to drive process improvements backed by dataStrong knowledge of agile principles and techniques (ex. Scrum / XP / Kanban) and scaled agile frameworks such as the Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe)Demonstrated ability to coach and mentorExcellent repertoire of team building activities and collaborative leadershipSkilled at optimization of teams and processesProficient in JIRAProven track record of assisting the Product Owner and Development Team in delivering business valueExperience in identification and resolution of organizational impediments that impact team maturity and performanceEnables the team to become high performing through collaboration and a relentless focus on continuous improvement including cross-skilling across the teamAbility to facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution across teams, stakeholders, and executives, including external teams, business partners, and other Agile Release Trains/programsChange and Release Management experience and knowledgeAbility to influence and guide business and technology leaders on changes that enable AgilityExperience in facilitating significant improvements to the operating model and the end-to-end delivery processExperience in Kanban also, a plusAbility to analyze and think quickly to resolve conflictExperience in dealing with ambiguity in a rapidly evolving environmentMotivated and a hands-on team player, persistent, and results orientedAble to consistently meet deadlines and self-manage through shifting priorities and demandsHigh level of positive energy, enthusiasm, and self-motivation
